$400 Extra Weekly Unemployment Benefits As Part Of Executive Order Signed by President Trump - Saturday, August 8th

By UnemploymentPUA.com Staff, Saturday, August 8th

After a series of Unsuccessful Negotiations between Democrats and White House leaders, President Trump announced in a press conference today that he is signing an executive order extending enhanced unemployment benefits. The order will award an extra $400 per week which will be added to the state benefits. This is $200 less than the $600 which was awarded as part of the FPUC (Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation).

Negotiations will still resume next week to see if a deal can be made, since the Executive Order is not the optimal solution as it is meant to bypass Congress.

Details on the implementation of the Executive Order remain to be seen, including the questions which most of us are asking: "how soon will we see that extra $400 and will it be retroactive?"

UnemploymentPUA.com will continue to monitor the situation and provide regular updates.
